Fishing Cone got its name back in 1870 when a man lost a fish off his line and dropped in the hole. When he finally fished it out it was cooked. This is still at West Thumb on the Yellowstone Lake.
More run off.

See the run off, well it turns all different colors. The smell of sulfer is so strong.
This pool is boiling.

We are at what they call West Thumb Geyser Basin. There was a walk way around all the different pools.

We stopped at the Jackson Lodge and went in. On the 2nd floor there are huge windows to view the Mountains. Also you can walk out on the veranda. That's what we did to take pictures.
These are the Teton Mountains.

This is on Lewis Lake. We stopped here and had a picnic lunch on our way to see The Grand Teton's.

Old Faithful

The next several pictures are the stages as it was going off. It goes off every 65 or 92 minutes.

I dont remember the name of this other than the One We stuck our finger in. Very stupid. When water is boiling well hello its hot.

This is Elk in Madsion Valley. The Park has a name for each section, Madsion is what you come to first when you come in the West Entrance.

We are barely in the park, wow is this going to be a good day!!!

As soon as we got in the park the Rangers slowed every one down to make sure no one bothered a the Eagles nest. Then we saw him flying around and was able to get the shot when he landed.

Just look what was standing there. MY Moose and we haven't even gotten to Yellowstone yet. Now every thing we see will just be Gravy (you have to be southern to understand that).

My objective for Yellowstone was to see a Moose, a live in the wild Moose. I over heard a lady in the office talking about this place about 10 miles on further on 289 called Beaver Creek and at dusk most of the time you can see Moose. So I was on a mission!! We got to the lake part and no Moose so we drove down a dirt road that ran right beside the creek. When we got to a wide place in the creek we stopped and then decided to pull up a little further and turn around so we would be heading out of this very dark place very soon. As we were pulling up a car pulled up and they were pointing to the creek. I got out and ran and saw a baby and what must be the daddy with huge antlers, but by the time I got the camera on they had walked into the woods. The to young boys in the other car told us about where they had just seen a grizzly bear cub so off we went. We found no bear but when we got back to the lake!!
This is His or Her nest. I bet she is in the nest and this is the Daddy keeping the home front safe.
This is our first live Yellowstone Wild Animal. An Osprey.

Wyoming has the Buffalo, what a surprise.
Now this one is outside.
This is where we ate lunch. The Grizzley Claw Restaurant. The Big Bear you see is inside.

After we got set us it was way past lunch and we were hungry, so we drove to West Yellowstone. O my shopping shopping, everywhere is shops.
This is our Campground, look at what we got to look at everyday.

These Horses were in this pasture every day.

Its always nice to know what kind of area you are staying in. We just turned on the 287 that our camp ground is on. And this is what we were welcomed with. If you cant read it. It says EARTHQUAKE AREA. Such comforting words. Most campgrounds are on a railroad track a major interstate or an airport that never sleeps. But good grief Earthquake now that is a new one.
I would say this is deceiving because we still have a long way to get to the park. Someone needs to put underneath THIS WAY
It goes from one side of us to the other.

This is the Gallatin River that stays with us the rest of the way till we turn on to our road.

This must be Yellowstone, there are wild animals.

This highway is awesome, it looks like this on both sides, I don't know which to shot first.

We are getting closer.

You see these racks well I have those beat, I saw no I will show you later.

We are on the 287 - 191 going south.

We are still on I-90. In just a few miles we are turning on to Hwy. 191 also 287 ( there are at least 4 287s) toward West Yellowstone. We will turn on the 287 at Hebgen Lake. That is where we are going to be while at Yellowstone.

This is what we do, we go up and we go down. Way up and way down.

I think the Elevation is going to do me in .

Up close with the Rocky Mountains and guess what I have.
