This is one of those shots that you just have to take. There are pull off spots all along the Rim and we did take advantage of all of them. I hope you have gotten something from our trip so far and that and enjoyed the ride with us. We are leaving in the morning for Needles, CA. for the night. Then on to Orange, CA so I am about to get caught up with the Blog.

You are looking out at the Painted Desert. Not to painted because its at sunset when it has all the reds in it. Sorry we didn't get back to see it then. But I couldn't think very well, like I said the altitude was really getting to me and i had had enough.

This is at the end and it is called The Watch Tower. You can climb in it and look out (like you needed to be any higher) over the Canyon to the left and The Painted Desert on the right.

We are getting close to the East end of the Canyon. But you can still see the River curving in and out of the Mts. Well I don't know what you call them, because Mts go up from the ground and these go up from the pit of well some where down there, so not sure what they are, maybe just rocks. Big rocks.

This is one of the birds you just saw. Hes got a wad of bread in him mouth. So much he cant open it any further and he still was running around trying to push more in and not let the other bird have any. Talk about a pig but it was so funny watching him. He was about to choke and still wanted more.

The shadow you see in the bottom right corner is a lady feeding these two black birds.

The elevation gave me a lot of trouble. I never thought it would bother me. We go to the Mts. in Gatlinburg but this 7800 feet just about made me sick. But just look I wish you could see it for real.

Another shot of what this place called The Grand Canyon and what it looks like. You see the pictures and I have seen them before but you have to stand on the Rim to try and grasp what you see. I don't think you can ever understand it or the magnitude of this vast place.

Finally i found one of the Colorado River. Now this is zoomed way in we couldn't see it this good with the necked eye. We went to the Imax Movie on the Canyon and I thought I might like to go down the rapids( well first problem is I would have to get down there) but after I saw the movie good grief those aren't waves or ripples in the water they are killer rapids. No way this white girl would be caught in that water!

This is Rudolph. I don't know why Santa let him come here and play so close to the Canyon, well I guess it is because he can fly.

The layers in the rocks is so fascinating and all the colors.

Sonny. See we did go.

If you forgot what I look like, here I am and here is

What a Trip!!

The girls went to the Canyon. Lucy says its to bright out here.

The Grand Canyon

They all begin to look alike. Some are just a different angle.

This place is massive. You can tell that what you are close to is clear but what is so far away is hazy

Four of the Condors

this is my photography but trying to pull him in he got fuzzy. This is one of the 53 known condors in the canyon. They and their mates have nest that they check on weekly.

Looking down into the canyon.

The Colorado River is down there somewhere.

In all this Wowness and people that cant speak English I found a friendly face. The signs say Against the law to approach or feed the wild life. Well he approached me, looks like he is saying you aren't in Kansas anymore and are you feeling ok.

Wow

Its not my photography, it is very hazy even pictures is the shops are like this. Every now and then you see one but it is when you are right at the object you are taking.

We are on the East Rim. The North Rim you can see in the very distance is 10 miles across.

The Grand Canyon

Will we finally got to the Grand Canyon. his is the very first picture i took. It takes a minute to really see what you are looking at. How did this happen why did it happen and now how do I control it. Its awesome its scary its over powering its erie its Wow.

This one was the look out. He must be the Grandaddy for the group. So he makes sure no body or anything doesn't bother the family. The wing span is huge.

In the park we heard all this squawking and ask what it was. There was several nest of these birds. Now there is two this size sitting in this nest with babies, so you can imagine how big these nest have to be.

This is what we looked out the front of the coach and saw. I have to say I had to get out and move to the side just a little because a tree was in the way for a view like this and also I have pulled it in (way in).

Sonny was trying to help his side but the Dog on this side was really pulling.Just look at those Mts. They are real. That isn't a back drop.

This is at one on the many shopping areas. It was full of these sculptures. This one the little boy in holding a frog. The flowers were also beautiful.

Is this not awesome. This is just one of the directions and views from the park where we stayed.

This is looking out from the Chapel.

This is a Prayer Chapel built into the Mtn. that looks out over the Sedona Valley. What a view.

This is a part of the World I had no idea it existed. We have nothing to compair it to in the south east. It is a awesome site.

Another view of Cathedral Rock and others that stand in Her presence.

This is Cathedral Rock.

This is in town can you believe this thing. It is overwhelming to see all these huge Mountain's (rocks) just standing there.

The rock in the middle is called Bell Rock. We have just gotten off the Interstate and heading into Sedona.

And when I turned around to walk back down it just about took my breath away. The Red Rocks of Sedona. Wanda was right it is beautiful. I never understood what she was talking about till now.

We stopped at a rest Area about 15 miles from Sedona. We were getting there a little early to check in and where we stopped as i opened the door these pretty flowers just needed two pretty girls to sit by them.

We walked up the hill behind them (we haven't seen the red rocks yet) and was letting them walk around. I had not turned around because I was to busy looking where I put my feet and what was crawling around me.

Interstate 17 heading to Sedona. Can't wait to see this thing call a must see.

This is the strangest thing. this is the way they do the ramps on to the interstates. two lanes going down, you both stop one gets a red light then the other. And believe me when you get your light you go and go now.

Apache Trail.

this is as we were heading back to The RV park. Its looking back at the Apache Trail.

around another corner.

Every turn was another beautiful site. The only problem is we are on a dirt road no side rails and you are on a one lane road that goes both ways and so some one has to hang over the edge so you can pass. I didn't breath for a couple of hours.

This is the most wild thing I saw on the Apache Trail. Thank you Lord.

We saw three Lakes on the Dirt Trail. This is Cannon Lake.

Apache Trail

Sunday We decided to go on an adventure and do the Apache Trail that's Hwy 88. Sonny's new word is WOW and mine too. These next pictures are some of what we saw.
