This is Richards site and yes I was complaining on Sat. When we got here and set up in the poring rain and you see the creek behind him and he was floating away. Sonny went over and dug a ditch for him to try and drain the water away. We are right next to him and we also had water. The next picture will show you. I have nothing to complain about I wont melt and if I did it would be good to lose a few pounds. Well this is all for now, I need to go see what else I can get into.
Somebody's belongings litters the road sides every where. The wind and storms they have had since Katrina is a fight to keep those Blue tarps that you see EVERY Where. The homes and structures that still have big holes in them they have to try and save what they can with the tarps. We saw people living in tents on their property and trying to rebuild what didn't look like it was safe or to livable to begin with. I don't know how they can start all over with a car that has s tree still laying across it and the place they may have worked at is still on the ground in a pile. As I sit here with my tears in a nice warm Coffee Shop so I can get on line, They are out there struggling to heat something for Breakfast for them and their children. Lord forgive me when I complain that I need anything.

This is the end of 90 as they new it to be. Its still out, being worked on and their hope is to have it back by July.
The RV park doesn't have Internet service or PHONE service. They have to use Cell phones to connect to the out side world. IM not complaining. Just fact that they all have a long way to go to get back to what ever normal can be down here.
This is the only way you will see trees down here. There is no spot where the tree were untouched just like the lives of these people. This is I can imagine the way they fell. Broken and spilled out. I will never here that song again that I don't think of this area. And as bad as it is though their are some smiles and people helping people. Even me, a lady at Walmart the only grocery store here (I mean The ONLY) was helping me juggle sweet potatoes.
I hope you can see these, the sun was so bright but I think you can get the picture of what is still here. Its strange how some seem to have with stood the storm and others didn't stand up at all and they would be next to each other. But no one didn't get devastated buy this storm that was near here. The water came up 28 feet so even the house below the bottom floor was out it got to the next level.

This is the Entrance to the Hollywood Casino and RV park. The Park is just an extension to the parking lot of casino. It is the newest and cleanest thing down here. We rode around yesterday to see what the shore line looked like. I took a whole disc in movie camera and some stills. It will be years and years before they can clean this place up. So many people are living in make shift parks or the (I guess you would say the ones that can afford to) ones living on their property and doing the best they can to rebuild. So many for sell signs. They have lost so much.
My prayer is that they didn't lose their souls and their love for the Lord.
Their is a shuttle that runs through the RV park 24 hours a day. At 3 in the morning isn't it what you want to do, is get on and ride over and throw your money away. Who thinks of these things. They have lost their mines. The shuttle will pick you right up at your door and drop you right at the door of casino and it runs every 15 min (and they get paid to drive this trip) and then you get back on and it take you right to your door. We haven't taken advantage of this service yet. . If you have a plan to come this way bring water, unless you like dirty brown water. I would call it very week coffee. Needless we are drinking Bottled water and so are my babies.

Well it wouldn't be me without a beautiful building with a steeple. This one is in downtown Brunswick, GA. We passed it going to St Simons from RV Park. So I had to share it.
This is on St Simons right out from the Lighthouse. We went to a place called Barbara Jeans. A local hangout and lots of vacationers (us toooo). We got a Crab Cake sandwich on a Kaiser roll (that they make) and two cups of She Crab Soup and went back to the lighthouse beach and ate our lunch. What a life. You know she crab soup well what about he crab soup. Well y our guess is good as mine. I have no clue what makes it she crab, I was afraid to ask.
We had been told there was Dolphins here and around 1:00 pm they usually show up because this is a feeding ground for them, but as the water gets colder the deeper they go and you don't see them as much. The first two days we came over here we didn't see them but on Sunday we saw them. Sorry no pictures IM good but not that good.
That is Jekyll Island that you can see. We went over there on Sat. To look for invisible shells when the tide went down. But the girls had a wonderful time running on the beach.
See the boat between us, it is going out to catch me some SHRIMP. Oh yea. You can also see people riding their bicycles on the beach. It really is a nice walking beach.
There is a Marina at the park and as we were coming back from the Island we could see the sun was setting so we pulled down and what a sight post card perfect.

Click in the picture and you can make it bigger. Sorry but I have got to brag. I dont think a profesional could have done better. Well so much for my modesty.

This picture is in the foyer. Most of the windows in church are religious (well hello) but there is also some of the history of the Island and the love story behind the story of Christ Church. There is a cemetery on the property and it only has members of the church and the early settlers of the Island except for the renowned author Eugenia Price. She wrote a trilogy on the Island and the love story about the Church. The lady said we should have read the books before coming and they would come to life for us. Me read , yea right like that's going to happen. I ask her if it was on audio and she looked at me like I had lost my mine. She told me she read one of the books in one night. I want to see this book.

This window is in the very back of Church. When you come in it is to your right and it is exquisite. Heather Whitestone was married in this Church. The Lady that was in the Church telling all the history said the Church is booked for years with couples wanting to be married here.
It's 2007 and what a year we have in front of us. It is January and we are on the road. First stop was back to Stone Mountain, Georgia. We were in our same spot as you saw in the Stone Mt. Pictures. We left last Friday and went to Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in Brunswick, GA. It is almost half way between St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island. What a plan.
We drove over to St. Simons first and went straight to the light house. We have been here before and couldn't wait to get back. There is a welcome center right behind the Lighthouse and we got some information and maps. We had been told about a place to eat and it was supper time and we were ready. So we went to The Crab Trap. It was wonderful and very pricey for us. But it was right in line for the area.

This is Christ Church which is a top attraction for the Island. It has the most stained glass windows in the area. And they are breath taking.
