Lt. Cain of CSI Miami turns his head when he is listening or trying to figure something out. Well that is what I was doing with this rock. A man with a camera was taking a picture of this rock and his camera look like one that he should know what he was doing or needed to give it to the professionals. So me being the camera buff I am I had to take a picture too. How I have no clue why we took this picture, but if I ever need it I have it.
This is in the Black Hills where Mt Rushmore is and how Borglum chose the mountain he did, in the first place how in the world did he get here from where ever he came from. Hwy 385 and Hwy 16 and what ever other road comes this way WASN'T here. One of those mystery's of the world.
In reading on Mount Rushmore, it was recommended to see film on Gutzon Borglum before you go. We are so glad we took the advise because it is the story behind the carvings and also what Georgia's Stone Mountain has in common with Mount Rushmore. A must see film!!
Now this is a Tunnel. You can see both ends and it is solid rock. This is Keystone right next to the entrance to Mount Rushmore.

We are on Hwy 385 going to Mount Rushmore from Deadwood. This Lake is in the Pennington Valley. I don't know the name of it. But there is a visitors center and rest area, very pretty.
One other bit of information, the female that bred the previous fall commonly deliver a set of twins in May or June. They weigh 6-9 lbs. can walk in 30 min. of birth and can out run a human in a couple of days.
The Lord is still showing us new and wonderful things that we have never seen before. I thought when we left Yellowstone that was going to be it for the wild animals. Then we saw Mr and Mrs Moose and now a herd of Pronghorns. Most people including me think they are Antelope, but the Antelope are in Africa and southeast Asia.
Pronghorns both Male and Female have horns. The males horns are 10 to 16 inches long and the females are only 1 to 2 inches long and are not pronged. Only about 70% of females have horns. The male shed his between November and December and get to full growth in September. What a pain. The female shed and regrow their horns at various times. More than you wanted to know.
We have left Ranchester, Wyoming and are on I-90. The top picture is looking back at the town of Ranchester and the bottom one, see the cloud right on top of the Mt. That is Big Horn where we were yesterday.
You know I like my privacy but this is going to far, they are in the middle of the Moon. This is Dayton, a little town we drove through the middle of to get to Ranchester where we are to spend the night. We ended up having to drive back here for Supper and the best salad bar in town. It was the ONLY salad bar in town and there was lettuce on the bar, yes you got it lettuce and that was all.
